The Palmetto Nationals is entering into our 5th year running at the legendary Darlington Dragway. We feature some of the best car clubs supporting our event. Some of the clubs that have attended past events are the Cape Fear Mopars, Central Carolina Mopar Club, Classic Mopars of the Pee Dee, CSRA Mopars, DSM, Dodge Truck World, Foothills Mopar Club, Low Country Mopars, Midlands Mopars, Myrtle Beach Car Club, Richmond Cruisers and many more. Our goal is to have an event to encourage car show enthusiasts to get together, show off their prized machines, and have fun while doing it. |
Darlington Dragway track gates are open all weekend. When you get to the infield gate to the track, let them know you are there to enter the car show. They will direct you to a car show personnel who will show you where to park and answer any questions you may have about the Palmetto Nationals event. Registration will be held under the large blue tents. Registration starts at 8:00 am and runs until 2:00 pm. Judging starts at 2:00 pm. Palmetto Nationals awards show starts at 5:00 pm. All times can change to accomodate turnout or other conditions. If you are going to be in the car show, but want to race later, let us know when you're registering. We can have your car judged right away so you wont miss out when the judging takes place. |
The cost to participate in the Palmetto Nationals car show is $20.00. This includes vehicle & driver for the weekend. Any additional passengers will need to pay track general admission of $10.00 per day or $20.00 for weekend pass. Come to the large blue tents next to the Darlington Dragway race towers to register for the car show.
All Palmetto Nationals car show registration & judging will be done by Palmetto Nationals' personnel. Trophies will be awarded to each of the 26 car show class winners & 2 overall winners. The 2 overall winners will consist of the "STOCK" & "MODIFIED" class winner. |
If you're hauling your show vehicle via trailer, you can unload in the car show area. However, we request that you please park your other vehicle & trailer in the spectator parking area after unloading your vehicle. Also, use extreme caution when operating any vehicle, such as atvs & golf carts in the infield, car show area, general parking area, or any other property of Darlington Dragway. Watch those drag cars. They don't stop or turn very easy. Please be aware that the Palmetto Nationals car show is a Mopar oriented event. If you have a non-Mopar vehicle, there are 4 non-Mopar classes you can enter. The Palmetto Nationals car show has had non-Mopar brands in the car show in the past & will always continue to do so. If any of the car show classes don't have any participants, that car show class trophy will be moved to another class. The overall class winners will be determined by total class points verses other classes. Modified class constitutes 3 or more items. Please make sure you enter into the correct class. If you're not sure what class you should be in, ask any Palmetto Nationals event personnel or go to the large blue tents. Either way, we will take care of you. * Modified classes constitutes 3 or more major changes to the engine or drive train constituting increased horsepower or looks to the engine or power train. Extreme body styling, exotic paint, wheel and tire size changes would constitute a custom car.
** Classes may be added or deleted based on previous show turnouts, feedback, special request, & other information. If your club or group would like to see or have a class that we don't have listed, please contact Frog at admin@palmettonationals.com .
*** Non-Mopar vehicles are recommended to choose 1 of these classes to be in. This is a Mopar-oriented show, but everyone is welcome.
